Week #24: Festival of Lights

Diwali is known as the festival of lights, and a few days ago I was invited over to one of my friend’s house to celebrate it. I got quite a number of decent portrait shots, but that’s wasn’t the main attraction of Diwali to me, as a photographer. It’s the festival of lights and obviously there’s got to be sparklers and firecrackers(?) right? And whenever theres sparklers, there’s got to be light paintings. And that is precisely what we did. I’ve experimented with light paintings briefly roughly a year ago with my kid cousins. It was a bit hard to coordinate, seeing that they were just six years old, but it turned out to be somewhat decent, but nothing ‘interesting’ in my opinion. However, at the Diwali dinner a couple days ago, I got quite a few nice long-exposure shots of the fireworks, sparklers, and firecrackers(?). So, I hope you enjoy the photos as much as I had fun photographing them! 🙂
